THROUGH MORE THAN 37 YEARS
The story of boform began in Aalborg in 1979 when carpenter Ove Skou, unimpressed with the quality and design of the kitchens he was installing for the kitchen manufacturers of the time, decided to develop his own kitchen design. Armed with a squared paper pad and a yellow Viking pencil he came up with the rough draft of what was to become line, a groundbreaking kitchen design for the time. Ove had come up with the idea of handleless fronts, whereby drawers and doors were opened by grabbing the edge or the side. This creates continuous horisontal and vertical lines - the signature look of the line model. Since then, nearly every kitchen manufacturer has incorporated the design but rarely at a level that matches up to boform’s when it comes to quality and eye for details. As Ove likes to put it “boform line - a classic among copies”, a saying that was used for a series of advertisements in the 1980s.
